DIY crystals

In school, we are learning about minerals and the earth having many layers. Layers that are made up of different rocks. Rocks that are hard, soft, square etc.

I found this recipe for Borax crystals. I thought it would be fun to see them grow and then tangibly hold the project after.

We used the eggshells because it looks so pretty!! And I have a million of them. The pipe cleaner worked better, but the delicate egg makes the girls show their appreciation for delicate things.
